Canberra’s public transport system does not service Weston Park effectively and our advice is that you consider carpooling, or hiring a van or minibus for transport to and from Weston Park.
The closest bus stop is located near the intersection of Schlich and Novar Sts, some two kilometres from the site. The route servicing this stop is Route 57.
Additionally, for athletes, supporters, and volunteers, free public transport will be available for all accredited Australian Masters Games attendees during Games week in Canberra, 18-25 October 2025.
Thanks to the ACT Government and Transport Canberra, this initiative means you won’t need to worry about transport costs when moving between competition venues, social events and accommodation. Simply show your AMG accreditation to ride any Transport Canberra bus or light rail service at no charge. More details on collecting your accreditation will be announced closer to the event.
Use Transport Canberra’s Journey Planner to plan your route.
To get to Weston Park from the northern side of the city, cross the lake at Commonwealth Ave and bear to the left. Take the Flynn Dr exit immediately following the bridge, and follow Flynn Drive around to the left, underneath the bridge and straight down the lake side, past Nara Park, until you get to the roundabout.
On this roundabout, turn right onto Alexandrina Dr, and follow the road. Immediately to your right is Lotus Bay, the Southern Cross Yacht Club and the lakeside home of DBACT. If you are coming to the officials briefing, the club captains briefing or the AusDBF VIP Drinks, you will need to turn right into Mariner Pl to get to the yacht club.
Weston Park, however, is about a five minute trip on this beautiful hillside drive. Take your time and lose yourself in the amazing views – it’s hard to believe you’re in the heart of Canberra! Watch out for kangaroos though, especially early in the morning.
Keep following the road until you get to the T intersection at the end. To your right will be the entrance to Weston Park.
If you are approaching the park from the southern side of the city, you will want to work your way to Hopetoun Circuit, which can be accessed from Adelaide Ave, or Novar St, which can be approached from the Cotter Dr.
Participants staying on the city side of the lake should be aware of possible disruptions to traffic coming over Commonwealth Avenue Bridge due to major renewal works on the bridge. One lane may be closed so it will possibly be slow; you may need to look for an alternative route to Weston Park.
For up to date information about road closures and other advisories, we suggest you check the ACT Government City Services Page
Car parking areas will be located close to the team marquees. There will be room for around five hundred vehicles in these lots, which will be managed by volunteers from DBACT Clubs. We ask that you treat these volunteers with the same respect and professionalism as you would an official.
Parking outside the Yarralumla Play Station and Railway Café, located immediately adjacent to our vendors village, is expressly forbidden. There will be plenty of signage and volunteers to ensure you don't get lost.
Green zone – event area
Red zone – drop off area for coaches/mini buses
Purple zone – strictly NO PARKING in the café carpark
Blue zone – Officials/Volunteers/Disabled parking
Pink zone – Primary car park
Orange arrows indicate traffic flow in/out of parking area
Yellow zone – the gate to Weston Park will not be open until 6.15am each day
The Blue zone marked on the map above is reserved for Officials, Volunteers and disabled parking. It will operate on a permit system.
Disabled parkers must present their valid disability parking permit to gain access. We will not be granting exemptions to anyone who forgets to bring their permit with them.
All other volunteers and officials can collect their permits from the Administration Office at Weston Park on Friday 17 October between 3.00pm-5.00pm. Please make sure that you have your parking permit with you as our attendants have been instructed to turn away anybody who arrives without one.
Please note that your permit is valid only on those days where you will be officiating or volunteering.
There is room in the the Officials/Volunteers parking area for about 120 vehicles, and it is first come first serve. Holding a permit entitles you to be able to park in the Officials/Volunteers area, but it does not guarantee you a spot.
